About the 108

The Peugeot 108 is not only the company’s take on a small city car, but it is the smallest car available on their lineup. It was released in 2014 as the successor to the Peugeot 107.

As with most small city cars, the 108 comes in both 3-door and 5-door options. Both of these configurations are front-engine front-wheel drives.

Unsurprisingly, the 108 has almost identical DNA as its PSA Group (Peugeot-Citroen) counterpart, the Citroën C1.

Further still, while there are some differences between the two, the Toyota Aygo also shares many similarities with the 108. All of these models share the same engine, floor pan, transmission, and electronics.

Other than its near siblings, the 108 rivals the immensely popular Kia Picanto, Hyundai i10, and Fiat 500.

The Peugeot 108 comes with the options of a modest 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter front-mounted engine. Both of which come as gasoline only - there is no turbodiesel option for the 108.

Despite seeing only one generation, the 108 underwent only a few small changes during its time on the market. An update to the interior came in 2018. However, other than the interior update, the 108 has remained all but unchanged.

There has only been one generation of the 108 during its time, with a planned second generation to be launched in March 2021, which was eventually canceled.

The little hatchback had a modest five years on the market before its planned discontinuation in 2021 was announced. The news came at the end of 2018, stating that the 108, as well as the Citroën C1, will be phased out of production in the near future.
