About the Navigator

The Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV produced by Ford-owned Lincoln. Despite long being known for sedan models such as the Town Car, Lincoln now features an exclusively SUV lineup, at the top of which you’ll find the Lincoln Navigator, making it the brand’s flagship model.

Mechanically speaking, the Lincoln Navigator shares its DNA with the Ford Expedition model. Therefore the main difference between the two models comes in the form of exterior and interior design. The 440-hp engine might be shared, but it’s completely wrong to characterize the Navigator as simply a plush Expedition.

The Navigator interior is definitely far more lavish and luxurious than any Ford model. When you climb the trim ladder, you get access to open-pore wood trim and even massage function on the front seats. The third row in particular has been hailed as the best example of how a 3-row SUV should be spaced out, with third-row passengers enjoying as comfortable a ride as anyone else.

Competing with the BMW X7, Range Rover, and Jeep Grand Wagoneer, among others, gives the Navigator some serious competition. It’s not exactly affordable with a starting price at $78,405 for the latest generation, but it’s actually still cheaper than many competitors, like the Range Rover which starts at $105,850. For almost that same price you can access the top-level Black Label trim for the Navigator ($106,285).

One downside with the Navigator can be its sheer size. While it makes loading passengers and cargo easy when it’s family vacation time, it’s not the easiest vehicle to park, and it’s pretty tricky to maneuver it in and out of traffic. Having said that, it does manage 0-60 in a pleasing 5.3 seconds. The interior also features a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, USB points for every row, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and much more.
