About the Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia warning lights are a set of bulbs that will light up on the dashboard.
These lights are mostly red and yellow, with some green ones mixed in.
There are many different warning lights for different purposes, so it is important to learn what they all mean before you get into trouble.
This page will go over the main warning lights that you should know about before driving your Toyota Sequoia.
The car was first introduced for the 2001 model year and acted as the Japanese automaker's first full-size SUV - designed specifically for the North American market.
Underneath, the chassis was taken from the Tundra pickup truck and offered with only a 4.7-liter V8 engine.
At first, it could only be purchased with a 4-speed automatic transmission but in 2005 Toyota introduced a 5-speed automatic to take over.
In 2007 a second-generation Sequoia was introduced to the market with a much more advanced suspension setup.
Then for the 2022 model year, a new third-generation model was launched with a touchscreen infotainment system in the dashboard.
Many of the classic warning lights that you would find in the Tundra had been removed from the instrument cluster and onto that touchscreen.
A few of the most common warning lights (these also apply to the Tacoma and the Tundra pickup truck as its the same basic car) are:
A battery warning light is red and shaped like a battery with both a positive and a negative terminal at the top.
This one lets you know that there is something wrong with your car's electrical system, so it should be checked out right away.
The oil light is red and in the shape of an oil can. This one means that you are low on engine fluid, so this should be checked out right away as well.
There is also a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it to show when there is something wrong with your brakes or ABS system.
If you notice any of the above warning lights, make sure to get your Toyota Sequoia looked at before driving again.
