About the Aygo X
The Toyota Aygo X is a small car with a whole lot of character. Its fun styling and cheapness to run make the Aygo X one of the best choices for anyone living in a city, or for someone who just wants to get from A to B in comfort. It doesn’t come without its flaws, but on the whole, the model is one of the best small cars on the market.
From the factory, it comes equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that doesn’t receive any help from an electric motor or even a turbocharger. This means that the Aygo X produces 71 horsepower. This modest amount of power won’t be an issue for town driving but go out of the city and you’ll definitely start to wish you had a bigger engine, as overtaking even the biggest trucks can feel like a challenge.
It is built as the name suggests on the same (yet slightly adapted) chassis used under the Aygo city car from Toyota.
Despite the lack of power, the Toyota Aygo X is surprisingly fun to drive. It is extremely agile, allowing you to turn into tight bends at high speeds. The lack of power also means that you can have your foot flat on the gas pretty much all of the time, which can be extremely fun too.
The interior of the crossover SUV city car is one of the best of any small car on the market. Not only is the interior made from high-quality plastics, but it’s also very cosy and comfy. Small cars generally have issues with being cramped, but the Aygo X feels very big inside, and it’s comfortable to drive for hours on end.
As for infotainment, the Toyota Aygo X comes with a touchscreen centre as standard. This is surrounded by a brightly coloured trim, which helps the touchscreen to stand out and feel even more expensive than it is.
