About the Santro

The Hyundai Santro is a small city car that aims to attract buyers with its unique styling (which was updated in 2018) and reasonable price tag. The Santro offers excellent performance compared to other city cars, a brilliant infotainment system, and stylish looks on the inside and out. Although, it can’t keep up with competitors, like the Volkswagen Up and Kia Picanto, in several key areas like internal space and passenger comfort.

Under the hood, the first generation 1998 Santro comes equipped with a four-cylinder petrol engine. This certainly isn’t going to win any awards as an engine, but as far as city cars go, it gives the Santro some serious power. Around town, the Santro feels quick and agile, and you can even take it onto the motorway without having to worry too much.

The overall ride of the Santro is also incredibly refreshing. The suspension is perfect for city driving. It’s not too soft, but also feels comfortable and makes the ride enjoyable for both the driver and passengers. The steering is also excellent, making the Santro feel athletic and agile. The Santro also features one of the tightest turning circles of any city car on the market.

The interior of the Santro is very small. In fact, it can be a struggle to fit adults in the back, due to the tight seats that offer little legroom. This can equate to a very uncomfortable journey for passengers. The boot is also tiny, making the Santro impractical when compared to other city cars.

There is a vast array of technology in the Santro though. The warning lights are incredibly responsive and will keep you aware of the condition of your car. And the 7-inch infotainment touchscreen is one of the best on the market, being fast and responsive with great graphics.
