About the CT5

The Cadillac CT5 went into production in 2019 for the 2020 model year as the company's new mid-size luxury car.

It replaced the CTS line and sports a fastback design inspired by models from the 1940s.

Underneath the CT5 is the same GM Alpha 2 platform that is used under the Chevrolet Camaro and sibling model the CT4.

It is offered by default as a rear wheel drive but you can upgrade to a four-wheel-drive at the time of purchase.

Powering the car is the choice of either a single turbocharged 2-liter, a twin-turbocharged 3-liter or a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.

The V8 is only part of the Blackwing trim and is fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission, the rest of the engines are fitted with a 10-speed automatic.

You will only find the twin-turbocharged 3-liter engine in the CT5-V performance trim pushing 360bhp.

In 2021 an even more high-performance version of the car was launched called the CT5-V Blackwing which is fitted with the supercharged V8 mentioned above.

The CT5-V Blackwing is capable of traveling at up to 209mph and gets to 60mph in 3.4 seconds according to Cadillac.

Inside all of the trims of the CT5, you will find the same warning lights presented in front of the driver.

You will also recognize these dashboard symbols from other Chevrolet and Buick lines as they all share the same technology.
