About the A4

Since 1994, the world’s roads have been graced by the presence of many great sedan cars, but very few of them can rival the track record of acclaim that has been received by the Audi A4. This compact executive sedan car is in its fifth generation, known as “B9” with the latest version being released in 2016. The newest models are both larger and lighter than their fourth-generation predecessors.

Over the years, Audi has expanded the A4 range into high-specification-related variants like the S4 and RS4. Even without climbing that high, one can enjoy great powertrains from 1.8L to 3.2L gasoline engines, and 2.0L to 3.0L diesel engines.

Many Audi A4 models were also given the company's permanent AWD system known as Quattro. In the latest generation, this is further enhanced with the Torsen T-3 center differential. A4 powertrains were usually paired with both manual and automatic transmission options, but in the latest model year, the only option is a 7-speed automatic.

One might think that the Audi A4 just looks like a smart sedan car, perfect for rolling around city streets. In fact, the model handles itself very well even on twisty country roads thanks to that Audi Quattro AWD system and impressively responsive steering. The new standard sport suspension also makes it a comfortable and easy-going ride on any surface.

The A4 manages decent gas mileage for a luxury-bracket sedan, managing up to 25-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway. While not as plush as something like the Mercedes E-Class, the A4’s interior nonetheless holds its own with resplendent soft-touch materials, a digital cockpit, large 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, fine wood grain, piano black and brushed metal finishes throughout, and not an ounce of cheap plastic anywhere to be seen.
