About the Celerio

The Suzuki Celerio is a small city car that has been on the roads since 2014, facing tough competition from the likes of the BMW 1 Series and Volkswagen Up!. The Celerio is perfect for anyone living in a city who just wants to get around without fuss, as the model is one of the cheapest city cars on the market. It also features a decent-sized cabin, and its own modest styling. However, standard equipment is virtually non-existent, and the performance is poor, to say the least. Ultimately, the Celerio is never going to win any rewards as a city car, but it’s a good choice for anyone on a budget.

Although the Celerio only comes equipped with a 1.0-litre engine, it’s pretty fun to drive. As long as you don’t have too much in the boot, the automobile feels quick around town and it can handle city roads with relative ease. However, the Celerio does start to feel out of place on bigger roads and you’ll certainly struggle to keep up with fast-moving traffic.

The engine is also economical, and it’ll take you a good while to get through a tank of fuel - one of the benefits of owning a city car like this one.

City cars are hardly renowned for their ride, and the Celerio is no different. Anything other than a perfect road can feel uncomfortable to drive on, and there’s a terrible amount of engine and wind noise that enters the cabin.

One thing to note is that the Celerio is not the most reliable city car on the market. It’s very cheap to buy, which means that the company has cut several corners in terms of quality and reliability. As such, don’t be surprised if you see a warning light come on every now and then.
