About the Ibiza

The Seat Ibiza is a small car that has been around on the roads for over 30 years. During this time, the Ibiza has stayed competitive with rivals and has become one of the company’s best-selling cars. The car offers great technology and practicality for an even better price but does fall short of its rivals in some key areas, such as performance.

Rolling off the factory floor, the Ibiza offers a few choices of engine. If you’re on a budget, the cheapest model comes equipped with a 1.0-litre petrol, producing just 79 horsepower. This is as slow as it sounds and getting the car up to 70 miles per hour can feel like a real challenge at times. Luckily, the company also offers a 94-horsepower engine, that comes with a turbocharger. This makes the Ibiza’s performance a whole lot better, even allowing it to reach 60 miles per hour in under 10 seconds.

Beyond this, the overall ride of the Seat Ibiza is great. Not only is the suspension soft enough to soak up smaller bumps, but firm enough to feel sporty and agile, but the steering is also incredibly responsive and sharp. This can lead to a very fun driving experience.

Underneath, the car has sat on the same mechanics as the slightly more premium VW Golf since SEAT was taken over by Volkswagen at the turn of the century.

The story only continues when you enter the cabin. Drivers will be greeted by a stylish cabin, made up of soft plastics, that feels very durable and secure. There’s even leather dotted around the cabin, like on the gearstick and dashboard. There’s plenty of storage capacity for a small car too. You’re probably not going to get 4 passengers in comfortably, but it is doable!

As for infotainment, the Seat Ibiza comes equipped with an 8.25-inch touchscreen as standard, but this can be upgraded to a 9.2-inch version. Both of these systems are crisp and responsive and are overall very easy and satisfying to use.
