About the QX80
The Infiniti QX80 is a luxury SUV that attempts to rival widely successful models such as the Nissan Armada. It certainly outclasses its competition in terms of looks, both on the inside and the outside. However, the QX80 fails to offer value for money, and as such, it makes more sense for buyers to look elsewhere when purchasing an SUV.
Under the hood, the Infiniti QX80 is equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 that produces 400 horsepower. This enables the full-size luxury SUV to accelerate from 0-60 in just under 6 seconds, which is pretty impressive for a model in this segment of the auto market. However, this engine doesn’t come without its faults. Firstly, the automatic transmission is very reluctant to downshift, which can make motorway driving a real challenge.
Overall driving is also disappointing from the Infiniti QX80. The car feels pretty sluggish at all times, and far less athletic than rival counterparts. This can take much of the fun away from driving the QX80, and if you want something that feels more agile and responsive, you’d be better off buying from a different company.
The suspension is poor as well. It’s far too firm for a luxury SUV and driving in the QX80 can be extremely uncomfortable at times. This is a massive downside, especially for people who have comfort as a priority. As the car is based on the Nissan Titan it seems to have a more agricultural setup than one that's family-friendly.
The interior of the QX80 is stylish, but it also feels old and outdated as it hasn’t been updated since 2011. Drivers will be greeted by a leather and plastic upholstery that’s minimalistic, if not a little boring. Luckily, there is more than enough storage space and legroom in the QX8, making it at least practical.
As for infotainment, the QX8 comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard. This is fast and responsive and features sharp graphics.
