About the XT6

The Cadillac XT6 is a three-row SUV that is incredibly eye-catching and might fool you into thinking that it’s better than its competition. It would be a mistake to think this, however, as the XT6 fails to deliver on several key areas. Having said this, the mid-size luxury crossover SUV does offer great storage space and technology.

Under the hood, the XT6 comes with a choice of two engines. Buyers can opt for a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or a more powerful V6 with 310 horsepower. The lesser engine is definitely geared towards comfort, whilst the V6 receives a number of extras to help with performance. These extras include torque-vectoring and retuned steering. The engines do offer great performance overall, but they’re not without their drawbacks. Both engines, but especially the V6, are incredibly thirsty, which means you’ll be spending a whole lot of money on fuel if you purchase the XT6.

You will find many of the same engine and feature options in the XT5 and the Buick Enclave as they share the same platform.

The overall performance of the XT6 is fairly reasonable. The suspension is nice and supple and will soak up most of the bumps and potholes on the road. And the steering does a pretty good job of making the car feel agile, but it does feel very bulky and clunky in tight situations.

The cabin of the XT6 feels very cheap and unimpressive. The materials used don’t feel of a high quality, and the whole cabin feels pretty cheap. This fact is made even worse when you consider that the XT6’s competition, such as the BMW X5, offers some of the best cabins on the market today. Luckily, the XT6 does offer an abundance of passenger and luggage space, making it practical, if unimpressive.

As for infotainment, the Cadillac XT6 comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen centre as standard. This is actually a really great system, and the touchscreen is responsive and the graphics are very sharp.
