About the Forte/Cerato/K3

The Kia Forte is a sports sedan that attempts to offer great performance for an incredibly low price. However, the cheapness of the car is reflected in its speed and overall driving ability. That being said, it is stylish and well-equipped.

Under the hood, the Forte gives drivers the option of a 2.0 Litre engine or a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine. The former will produce a modest 147 horsepower, which feels incredibly lacklustre and will take over 8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. The bigger engine will reach 60 in under 7 seconds and overall feels much sharper. Beyond this, the Forte is very average to drive. The steering doesn’t feel very sharp, but it gets the job done, and the suspension hits a good balance between comfort and performance.

The inside of the Forte is where this car comes to life. Drivers will be greeted by an incredibly modern and minimalistic design, which is complemented by high-quality leather and plastic. There’s plenty of room for passengers and luggage, which increases the overall practicality of the Forte. In fact, the car can carry more than its top rivals such as the Honda Civic.

The infotainment system is also great for the price. You’ll receive an 8-inch touchscreen that has phone connectivity and is overall sleek and practical to use. If you want to spend your money, you can even get a wireless phone charging pad.

The Kia Forte scored an overall safety rating of 4 stars. This makes the vehicle great for families and has a variety of innovative safety features such as standard lane-departure warning and a lane-keeping assist.

The biggest problem that users have reported is a faulty sound system. This has been described as weak and has even broken for many users. So, if you love to listen to music when you drive, the Forte might not be for you.
