About the Cadenza (K7)

The Kia Cadenza is a luxury sedan, that ticks pretty much every box. It’s affordable, fast, luxurious and stylish. As such, it’s a match for even the biggest rivals in the luxury sedan space, such as Lexus. It is known as the K7 in some markets such as in its home - South Korea.

It competes more directly with the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Maxima but occupies the lower end of the budget in this market.

Under the hood, the Cadenza is equipped with a V6 that produces 290 horsepower. It’ll go from 0-60 in around 6.7 seconds, which is a little slower than its competition but will feel more than enough when you’re behind the wheel. The engine produces a great noise and is overall very strong. The only downside is that the throttle can feel unresponsive at times.

The ride in the Cadenza is great. The suspension will absorb most bumps and potholes, leaving you with a smooth ride. Couple this with comfortable light steering, and you can see why the Cadenza is so relaxing to drive.

Where the Cadenza really shines is inside the cabin. Kia has provided one of the most beautiful interiors for a car of this price, and it simply blows its competition out of the water. Leather seats and high-quality plastics contribute to an immensely luxurious look and will make you feel like you’re in a car that’s much more expensive. There’s a surprising amount of cargo space too, which is an added bonus.

In terms of infotainment, the Cadenza comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. This is extremely useful, and it’s easy to connect your mobile device so you can play your own music and connect for calls. The touchscreen is responsive and really adds to the elegant interior.

The Cadenza also has some innovative safety features. For example, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes as standard. You’ll also get adaptive cruise control and a lane-keeping assist. Not only does this make the Cadenza incredibly safe, but also very user-friendly and practical.
