About the Bayon

The Hyundai Bayon is a small SUV that is so small it could very easily be mistaken for a hatchback on the road. The riding position is very low, which could be annoying for a variety of drivers. Despite this, however, the Bayon does offer decent practicality, performance and looks, for a reasonable price. The car isn’t going to break any records, but this doesn’t mean that it is not a bad choice if you’re looking for a cheap SUV.

Under the hood, this Hyundai is equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine. This produces a modest amount of power and allows the Bayon to accelerate from 0-60 in just under 11 seconds, which isn’t slow by any means. The engine comes equipped with mild hybrid technology too, which essentially means the little SUV's fuel economy is excellent.

The overall handling and drive of the Hyundai Bayon is great, if a little boring. The car sits well on the road, and won’t feel every bump on the road, but it isn’t as smooth as rivals such as the Volkswagen T-Roc. The steering is also respectable, but its clinical nature does take much of the fun out of driving. This can be a turn-off if you’re a fan of the experience of driving.

The interior of the Bayon is also very respectable. The cabin is made of high-quality plastics which feel sturdy and secure. There’s plenty of boot and passenger space too, so you’ll be able to commute with a lot of luggage.

As for infotainment, the Hyundai Bayon comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen centre as standard. Hyundai is renowned for their technology, and the Bayon is no different. The touchscreen feels sharp and responsive, and the graphics are amazing for a car at this price point.
