About the C4 Aircross

Built as a subcompact crossover, the Citroen C4 Aircross was shown first at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012.

To follow in the same line as the Picasso or the Cactus, it carried the C4 name badge. Due to the Peugeot 2008 (a popular vehicle selling well within the UK), it was decided that the C4 Aircross would not be offered to either the UK or Irish markets. There were a number of countries this vehicle was sold in though, it was offered to the rest of Europe, China, Morocco, New Zealand, Romania, Russia and South Africa.

Three trims were on offer, the Attraction, Comfort and Exclusive. The first was built with 7 series airbags, manual air conditioning with MP3 and CD player capabilities. The Comfort had cruise control, automatic climate control, alloy wheels and the top of the line, the Exclusive, had the addition of front and read camera assist and GPS.

Unfortunately, the C4 Aircross was subjected to a few recalls, the models from June 2012 to December 2013 had faulty tailgates, with many freezing or unable to open. Following this, in almost exactly the same time frame, some C4 Aircross’ were discovered to have faulty windscreen wipers. These could fill quickly with water to the extent of seizing.

The C4 Aircross was considered the sister to the Mitsubishi ASX due to Citroen and Mitsubishi sharing the same platform, the 'GS'.

There were several different engine offerings, for those choosing petrol, the C4 Aircross could be purchased as either a 1.6-liter or a 2-liter. For diesel, a 1.6-liter and a 1.8-liter capacity were available. In addition to a choice in engine variants, several transmission options were offered, these were a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 6-speed INVECS-III CVT.
