About the Cayenne

The Porsche Cayenne is a sports SUV that ticks pretty much every box you could think of. The mid-size luxury crossover SUV sits in a very crowded market, with virtually every major manufacturer having their own flagship sports SUV. But the Cayenne stands out with its great looks, impressive performance and practical interior.

The Porsche Cayenne has a variety of engines to choose from, to fit almost every need. The entry-level model features a 3.0-liter V6 engine, producing 335 horsepower. This allows the Cayenne to accelerate from 0.60 miles per hour in just over 6 seconds. This is more than enough for everyday scenarios, but if you’re after more power, the SUV can be equipped with an even bigger engine. For instance, the Turbo S E-hybrid features a V8 engine that propels the Cayenne from 0-60 in under 4 seconds. This is incredibly impressive, considering that the Cayenne is an SUV!

Overall ride and handling is also excellent in the Cayenne, but there is room for improvement. Standard suspension does feel a little firm and doesn’t match up to competition like the Audi Q7. But air suspension can be selected as an optional extra, which fixes this problem. Steering is also hard to fault- the Cayenne feels as light and agile as any other sports SUV on the market.

If this car is a bit big for you then you may find that you prefer the newer but slightly smaller Macan from the same German sports car maker.

You might think that the Cayenne’s performance is its best feature, but the story just gets better when you enter the cabin. Drivers will be greeted by a beautiful cabin with a stylish leather trim, which screams luxury. Everything feels very expensive, and there’s plenty of boot space, making the Cayenne as practical as it is pretty.

There’s a lot of tech in the cabin too. The heart of this is the 12-inch touchscreen centre, which is sharp and easy to use.
