About the Polo

While the US market has embraced the VW Golf GTI, other compact VW models like the ever-popular VW Polo have fallen by the wayside. It’s a shame, too, because the VW Polo, in particular, represents greater value than the Golf, while delivering a similarly fun, dynamic and enjoyable drive, and an increasingly impressive raft of standard and available features.

Like the Golf, the VW Polo exterior has been made larger over the years and now features top-notch cutting-edge features like the "IQ.Light" Matrix LED headlight set, all-new sleek alloy wheel rims, cleaner and more athletic lines, and a panoramic sunroof. The interior gets the advantage of a high-resolution digital instrument cluster, optional BeatsAudio sound system, and optional wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Even better, if you go right for the top end of the Polo Spectrum, you can take advantage of the GTI model with its 2.0L TSI engine, 7-speed VW DSG transmission, and 0-60 time of just 6.5 seconds. It also features a standard differential lock, which helps to prevent any problems with understeering.

The interior of the Polo at every level has been improved over the years. You now get comfortable and supportive sports seats, more digital displays, intuitive controls, and all the connectivity and storage you could need. The rear seats are still a bit of a squeeze if you have 3 large adults in there, but it’s very comfy for kids, and the center bump in the floor has been reduced in size to make it a bit more comfortable.

Added driver assistance tech includes adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, parking assist and more. VW has done a lot to make the Polo less of a “poor man's Golf” as it used to be, and has helped to make it a more desirable model in its own right.
