About the Traveller

The Peugeot Traveller is the passenger van version of what was originally the Citroen Jumpy and Peugeot Expert cargo/panel van. Those early commercial vans were produced from 1994 to 2005, before the third-generation models arrived in the 2016 model year. It was these models that included the new Peugeot Traveller, as well as a Citroen equivalent, the SpaceTourer.

While both the Peugeot Traveller and Rifter passenger models were based on the Peugeot Expert panel van, the design had important differences, with the Traveller being quite a lot larger, for one thing, able to seat up to 9 people in total (compared to 7 on the Rifter). The inclusion of Peugeot’s advanced suspension technology with adaptive shock absorbers also helps make the Traveller a smooth and pleasing ride for all those passengers on all journeys, long and short.

Surprisingly to some, the Peugeot Traveller offers a very nimble and agile driving experience, comfortable on both city streets and narrow country lanes alike. While wind and road noise can build up on the highway, the car is otherwise quiet and comfortable, and keeps passengers stable and steady while taking even sharp turns.

Under the hood, Peugeot offers either a 1.6-liter or 2-liter diesel engine offering up to 180hp in total, with the best fuel economy rated at about 44.3-mpg combined. Both standard and long wheelbase options are available, offering buyers a great choice to add extra interior space and legroom if they wish.

Total cargo capacity in the standard model is 148 cubic feet with the rear seats removed. Even with just the rear seats lowered, rather than removed, you can get up to 106 cubic feet. Up front, there’s seating for up to 3 people, and drivers get a modest 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, automatic soft-closing rear doors, and all models have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
