About the Partner (incl. Tepee)

The Peugeot Partner has been around on the market since 1996. It was originally manufactured by the Peugeot (aka PSA) Group, and since 2021 by Stellantis. The Partner is mechanically the same as the Citroen Berlingo, produced by the same group and badged differently for the marketplace.

Buyers can get the Peugeot Partner either as a commercial van, or as a minivan seating up to 7 people that is known as the Partner Tepee. Since 1996, there have been 3 generations of Partner vans, the first running from 1996 to 2007 with a facelift in 2003; the second from 2008 to 2017, and the latest having been launched in the 2018 model year.

Earlier generations had powertrains ranging from 1.4-liter to 1.8-liter gasoline units, and up to a 2-liter diesel, the most powerful among which could generate up to 89hp and 151 lbft of torque. For the second generation, these powertrains were standardized to a 1.6-liter inline-4 unit, before being reduced to 1.2-liter in the third-generation gasoline models.

The commercial vans can carry up to 950kg (2,094lbs), and reviewers have also remarked on the efficiency of the engines and the relative ease with which one can drive the Peugeot Partner. In the Peugeot Partner Tepee, with the rear seats in place (no third row), there are about 22.6 cubic feet of cargo space. That goes up to a massive 98.8 cubic feet if and when you feel the need to remove the rear seats.

In 2021, Stellantis also launched an all-electric version of the Partner, called the Peugeot e-Partner. This version operates on a 50-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. At the time of writing, Stellantis is only selling diesel and the new electric variants as new models for the Partner range --- not including the Tepee, which finished with the second generation --- but a wide range of used gasoline models also remains available.
