About the 207

The Peugeot 207 is a supermini that was sold by the French car manufacturer between 2006 and 2014. It represents the third entry in the 200 series, after both the 205 and 206.

Despite receiving mixed reviews upon release, the model went on to become the third best-selling car in the supermini class in the United Kingdom. Many believed that this criticism can be accredited to the poor reviews of the previous 206 model.

It featured a variety of layouts, all of which were built with a front engine and front-wheel drive. Different layouts include a 3-door and 5-door hatchback, a 2-door coupe cabriolet, and a 5-door estate. These all sat atop the PSA PF1 platform, which it shared with its corporate cousin the Citroen C3.

Other supermini models that competed with the 207 include the Renault Clio, SEAT Ibiza, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, and Ford Fiesta.

Trim levels ranged depending on the region in which it was sold. Some of the most notable include the GT and GTI variants, which were both high-performance models.

Peugeot also released a limited run called the Le Mans Special Edition. This variant featured updated sport styling, sports decals, and a rear spoiler - owing to its sports inspiration.

Powertrains consisted of a series of 1.4 L inline-4 and 1.6 L inline-4 petrol engines that were tuned for different power outputs. The diesel variants consisted of the same engine sizes but were limited to only a single version for each size.

These powertrains were coupled with either a 5-speed or 6-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

It was later succeeded by the release of the Peugeot 208.
