About the 2008

The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover SUV that has been produced since its release in 2013. It came as a replacement to the 207 SW after its discontinuation.

International releases were staggered, with Chinese and Brazilian models only becoming available in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Being a replacement for a station wagon, it comes as no surprise that the 2008 has a 5-door layout. The 2008 has a front-mounted engine and front-wheel drive rather than four-wheel drive, like most crossovers.

The first generation lasted between 2007 and 2013. It was produced in conjunction with its PSA Group counterpart the Citroën C3.

Similar models to the 2008 from competing manufacturers include the Opel Mokka, Volvo XC40, and the VW T-Roc.

Engine options feature the typical variation for the subcompact crossover class. These range from the 1.2-liter VTi to the 1.5-liter THP Flex petrol. The diesel options ranged from the 1.4-liter Ford HDi to the 1.6-liter Ford BlueHDi.

A facelift was given to the first-generation 2008 in 2016, featuring updated exterior and interior styling.

The second generation was then released in 2019. The new generation came with a selection of changes, including updated exterior and interior styling, new engine options, and updated technology. An all-electric model was also debuted.

Engines for the second-generation 2008 were streamlined down to a 1.2-liter PureTech petrol in a range of power outputs, and the same 1.5-liter BlueHDi in two power outputs.

The 100 kW fully-electric version of the 2008, the e-2008, was released for sale in Europe in 2020.
