About the 107

The Peugeot 107 is a city car that was manufactured by the French car manufacturer between 2005 and 2014. It represents the successor to the Peugeot 106.

During its near-decade on the market, there was only a single generation released. It did receive two modest facelifts in both 2009 and 2012 to update various features like exterior and interior styling.

Like most of the Peugeot lineup, it shares a huge amount of similarities with its corporate cousin the Citroen C1. Interestingly, their development was a joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota. This resulted in the 107, C1, and Toyota Aygo being essentially the same city car.

While development in conjunction with a titan like Toyota can have its benefits, both the French versions suffered a massive recall in 2010 solely due to accelerator pedal issues with the Aygo.

All of these models feature either a 3-door or a 5-door hatchback layout. In addition, they were all fitted with engines in the front, which drove the front wheels.

Other similar models in the class include the Volkswagen Up!

Peugeot released a huge number of trim levels over the years. Including special editions, these were in excess of 14 different trim options - much more than most other models on the market.

Despite having so many trim options, only two engine options were released during its time on the market. These were a single 1.0 L inline-3 petrol and a single 1.4 inline-4 diesel option. These were coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual.

Although the 107 name was discontinued, the model itself was carried over with the release of the Peugeot 108 in 2014. However, the model was finally retired in 2021.
