About the A6

The Audi A6 is a popular executive sedan produced by German auto giant Audi since 1994. The latest model is known as the Audi A6 (C8) which is the fifth generation of the long-running model. This model was released in 2018 as the flagship sedan variant, as well as the A6 Avant wagon variant, and the high-spec S6 Sedan and Avant variants, not to mention the even higher-specification RS 6 Avant wagon released in 2019.

The A6 is placed above the flagship Audi A4 sedan model, but below the top-end Audi A8 luxury sedan model. In its latest form (2022 model year at the time of writing) it has a starting price of $56,995 for the base-level Premium 45 trim level. Other trims include the Premium 55 ($60,845), Premium Plus 45 (from $60,895), Premium Plus 55 ($64,745) and the Prestige 55 (from $70,595).

Currently, there are 2 powertrains available, which are a 2.0L 4-cylinder 248-hp unit, and a 3.0L V6 that outputs up to 335-hp. The V6 can take the A6 from 0 to 60 in just 4.8 seconds. Many other powertrains have been offered over the years, but the current offerings were standardized in 2018.

As you’ll find in many Audi sedan models, the A6 features sleek, modern design with a simple and straightforward elegance to it. High-quality materials abound from soft leathers to rich wood finishes and even brushed metal here and there. Not an ounce of cheap plastic can be found anywhere.

The A6, like its siblings the A4 and A8 has enjoyed enduring popularity around the world, and especially in China where it is a popular choice among business executives, particularly in its signature black color. The combination of power, luxury and utility are well combined in the A-series models, and especially in the A6 as a strong step-up from the A4, but more affordable than the very grand A8.
